My Story

After years of working as a teacher’s assistant in special education, I made the life-changing decision to step away from the classroom and dedicate myself fully to my most important role—being my son’s paid caregiver. This choice came from both love and necessity. My son, who has autism, needs consistent support, understanding, and advocacy, and I realized no one could provide that better than me.

Leaving my job wasn’t easy, but it gave me the opportunity to use my skills and experience in a more personal and meaningful way. Every day, I apply what I learned in special education to help my son build independence, confidence, and life skills—while also creating a supportive environment tailored to his needs.

This journey has also inspired me to share resources, tools, and encouragement with other parents and caregivers. I know firsthand the challenges, sacrifices, and rewards that come with caregiving, and I’m passionate about helping others feel supported, empowered, and less alone on their own paths.
